Best in Value, First in Customer Commitment

UPDATE:

ACI is proud to announce that it has made major strides towards being fully RoHS compliant. One major OEM now has all of their corresponding ACI part numbers fully compliant. This is a major step in having all the products that we manufacture meet those guidelines.

BACKGROUND ON RoHS:

Automation Components, Inc. is actively pursuing compliance to the RoHS directive that will limit the use of lead (pb), mercury, cadmium, hexavalent chromium and two brominated flame retardants: PBB (polybrominated biphenyls) and PBDE (polybrominated diphenyl ethers). The RoHS directive applies to all electrical and electronic products and their component parts offered for sale in the EU and other countries after July 1, 2006.

ACI management established a RoHS team in early 2005 to engage in the formal process of addressing RoHS for all of our products. We are targeting RoHS compliance by July 1, 2006 where any of the restricted substances will be eliminated or will be at acceptable minimum levels, except where it is widely recognized that there is no technically feasible alternative (as indicated by an exemption under the EU RoHS directive). Currently we are developing a database where RoHS data, obtained by our suppliers, will be maintained. The database will enable ACI to make decisive statements to our customers for all ACI products covered under the RoHS directive.
